Wax Melt Vapour: Understanding and Managing Excessive Mist

It’s normal to see a slight vapour mist rising from your wax burner as the wax melts and releases its fragrance. However, if you notice a large or excessive amount of vapour mist, this could be a sign that the wax is getting too hot. When the wax becomes too hot, it can cause the fragrance oils to burn too quickly, leading to a stronger vapour release.

In this situation, you should first extinguish the tea light and allow the wax to cool down. Next, try using a smaller tea light to see if it produces less vapour. A smaller tea light will provide a gentler heat, ensuring the wax melts more slowly and evenly, which should help reduce the amount of vapour released.

If using a smaller tea light helps, continue using these for a safer, more controlled experience. However, if the excessive vapour persists even with a smaller tea light, it could indicate that the burner you are using may not be ideal for wax melts. Some burners are designed specifically for oils and may not work well with wax melts, causing them to overheat. In such cases, you might want to consider using a different burner that is better suited for wax melts.
